The Storm Hits

Last week, the Southeastern United States faced the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. While some areas saw devastating flooding and winds, Knoxville was fortunate to experience only heavy rain and wind. This caused several power outages, leading to downtime for many local businesses.

Thanks to the PNK, RCN experienced minimal disruption, restoring connectivity within minutes of the outage.

PNK Ensures Connectivity

As soon as the power went out, we immediately turned to our PNKs. In less than five minutes, the kits were fully deployed and operational, ensuring quick connectivity with minimal effort. With around 30 team members relying on the network, the PNK handled the load seamlessly. Although we weren’t sure how long the outage would last, which ultimately extended beyond two hours, the PNK kept us connected and productive throughout.

Power Restored, No Downtime

By deploying the PNK, we were able to avoid downtime and keep our operations running, even during the unexpected outage. While many local businesses faced significant disruptions, we were fortunate to maintain productivity. We recognize that the storm caused serious damage elsewhere, and we are grateful for the technology that allowed us to stay connected. The PNK played a crucial role in ensuring business continuity during a challenging time.

As recovery efforts continue, we are ready to assist. If you’re interested in learning more about the PNK, please reach out.
