Frederick Firestone Fire District is located in Colorado and serves roughly 33,000 residents across the towns of Frederick and Firestone. With several areas they serve located amongst mountainous terrain, FFFD often struggled with finding a reliable way to communicate.
Challenge
In order to serve the large community located just outside of Denver, Frederick Firestone Fire District (FFFD) needed a way to keep firefighters connected when responding to calls in remote areas.
Solution
After careful consideration, FFFD chose RCN’s PNK, a ruggedized network in a box. With many calls coming from areas with less than ideal RF coverage, the PNK’s internal high-gain antenna provided the Fire District with a reliable signal no matter where they went.
Additionally, the rapid deployment capabilities of the PNK made it the ideal solution, as firefighters could simply throw it in the truck when leaving in a hurry. Once on the scene – or even while still en route – a single button press is enough to get everyone and everything connected to a secure 5G network.
