Thanksgiving Letter from RCN’s VP of Sales to Ericsson Partners

As the Thanksgiving holiday approaches, I want to take the time to send out a sincere thank you on behalf of the RCN Technologies team to the entirety of the Ericsson Enterprise Wireless Solutions team.
RCN finds itself with solid double-digit growth this year. Would it surprise you to know that 90% of our revenue comes from your product exclusively?
The other 10% largely stems from our Ericsson Cradlepoint embedded solutions like our Pop-Up Network Kit, 5G & LTE Blue Light Beacons, and NERGY field WWAN units.
0% of our sales come from competitive WWAN solutions.

I sit and watch the market and channel from my office at RCN, and two things stand out to me:
1.) Both carriers and traditional Ericsson elite/exclusive WWAN partners continue to adopt inferior WWAN solutions into their portfolios.
2.) With the recent reduction in force, EWS field engineering resources will become strained, forcing larger reliance on the partner community.
In response to these shifting conditions, RCN remains 100% committed to Ericsson Cradlepoint exclusivity. We will not adopt the competition. We will continue to double down on the EWS portfolio to drive growth and innovation.
We continue to invest heavily in our engineering resources by hiring a long-time Cradlepoint SE veteran, Lee Brumagin, including having him train three other RCN engineers to support customer use cases ranging from traditional WWAN, SASE and security deployments, and finally private cellular networking with the EP5G portfolio, notably Compact (CBRS).
Ultimately, with the changes in our lane of the technology channel, RCN is excited to stay the course with our #1 partner. Your products are at the core of what we do. Without Ericsson Enterprise Wireless, we could not be the company we are today.
